Vivera retainers are custom-made orthodontic devices that work like clear aligners to keep teeth in their desired position after completing orthodontic treatment. They are made from thermoplastic material, which makes them comfortable and durable. Vivera retainers are clear, virtually invisible, and can be removed when eating or brushing. They are an excellent solution for those who want to keep their teeth aligned without using metal retainers.
Vivera retainers work by applying gentle pressure to teeth, keeping them in their desired position. They are custom-made to fit your teeth and gums precisely, ensuring a comfortable fit. When you wear the retainers, they work like clear aligners by gradually shifting teeth into their correct position. Vivera retainers are made using 3D printing technology, which ensures a precise and accurate fit. This technology also allows the retainers to be more durable and comfortable than traditional retainers.

Patient Before & After by Dr Johan 📷
We recently had the pleasure of treating a patient who presented with older, mismatched veneers that no longer complemented their natural appearance. In addition, areas of gum recession had led to increased sensitivity and discomfort.
Following a comprehensive smile assessment, we carried out a full smile makeover, replacing the outdated veneers with carefully designed new veneers and crowns. Alongside this, we addressed the areas of recession to improve both aesthetics and patient comfort.
The result is a beautifully balanced, natural-looking smile that enhances the patient’s overall facial aesthetics while also eliminating previous sensitivity concerns.
Our approach focused on:
✅ Achieving a natural shade and translucency
✅ Improving symmetry and proportions
✅ Addressing gum recession and reducing sensitivity
✅ Ensuring optimal function and long-term durability
This transformation not only delivers a more aesthetic outcome but also provides a clinically reinforced, healthier, and more comfortable result for the patient.
If you’re experiencing similar concerns or would like to enhance your smile, our team at Ramsbottom Dental Care is here to help you achieve results that look natural, feel comfortable, and stand the test of time.

Restoring confidence and function in one smile ✅
This patient had previously undergone root canal treatment of his front tooth. While the tooth was successfully treated, it gradually became discoloured - a common outcome following this type of procedure.
To achieve the best possible result, we first retreated the root canal to ensure long-term health and stability. This was followed by internal bleaching to lift the darkened shade from within the tooth, preventing it from showing through the final restoration. We also enhanced the overall smile with professional Enlighten whitening for optimal shade matching.
To complete the transformation, we restored the tooth with a custom-made Emax veneer. This allowed us to carefully match the shade and translucency of the surrounding teeth, creating a natural and harmonious appearance.
Importantly, the veneer also reinforces the tooth structure, ensuring it remains both aesthetically pleasing and clinically sound.
A subtle change that makes a big difference ✨

Plaque is more than just “gross”- it’s the main cause of dental problems:
➡️ Tooth decay: The bacteria in plaque produce acids that attack tooth enamel, leading to cavities.
➡️ Gum disease: Plaque buildup along the gum line can cause inflammation (gingivitis), and if untreated, can progress to periodontitis, which can damage the bone supporting your teeth.
➡️ Bad breath: Bacteria in plaque can produce unpleasant odors.
➡️ Affects overall health: Chronic gum inflammation has been linked to heart disease, diabetes, and other systemic conditions.
💡 Key takeaway: Plaque is invisible at first but can have serious consequences. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are essential to keep it under control.
